Autumn Walks : Dunham Massey Village

It’s been great to take opportunities to get out and about during our weekends off with Jassy, and this weekend was no exception.  I work for Art In The Garden, I help to organise photography workshops run by my friend Michael Turner.  One of the perks of my job is that I can go out to stunning gardens and locations, with groups of photographers and take lots of pictures with my iPhone.

Dunham Massey Village

On Saturday, we met up at Dunham Massey Village.  A picturesque place with rows of quaint cottages, and beautiful gardens bursting with flowers. It was for our autumn Wild Walk.  A small group of us set out in the afternoon sunshine (we thought it might have rained on us but I’d been keeping my eyes, toes and fingers crossed all morning!)  It reminded me so much of Styal Village in Cheshire (another favourite place of ours).

National Trust Dunham Massey

We ended up walking through The National Trust Dunham Massey.  Michael had set us a project to capture autumn and to be on the look out for fungi.  Here are some of the images I found on my adventure…

Fungi on a fallen treeLight & Acorns

Shadows in the slaughter house

We found a building off the track which is was the old slaughter house. The light was perfect casting shadows on the walls and lit up a piece of apparatus. I was going for abstract 🙂

Spooky Cobwebs

I don’t usually process many of my pictures in black and white, but I thought this picture needed some atmosphere with the spooky cobwebs. They were illuminated by the sun and it caught my eye 😀

Posing Stag

Posing Stag, this handsome chap just loved the camera 😀

Black & White Stag

A magnificent beast and so tame! 🙂

Wild Walkers

This is Larry on the left and Janet, Michael’s wife taking pictures on their travels 😀

Bursting Berries

Bursting berries by the canal.

Canal Walk

Mr.B & Jassy leading the group back to the pub where we started.

All in all it was a great afternoon.  It was so nice to get some fresh air in a lovely county estate.  Jassy and Mr.B had a great time, and so did the rest of the Wild Walkers 😀 We’ll be running 4 seasonal walks next year which will be good.

Michael kindly took this picture of us, it’s nice to have a good family portrait! I’m usually the one behind the camera 🙂 Thanks Mr.T for taking this picture we really love it!

Until next time…
