Easter Time On The allotment

I think my feet have only just touched the ground… what a whirlwind Easter weekend! Mr.B, Jassy & me were lucky enough to have an extra long break w-hooo! 😀  We visited the beautiful Lake District at the beginning of our holiday for a couple of days. When we came home on Easter Saturday, we had a good day on the allotment.

Saturday was luckily a lovely sunny day.  We planted our potatoes earlier than we normally do.  With our plot being in a frost trap, we usually wait until the very end of April when we should be clear of frost.  I think the glorious weather has persuaded us to be rebels and pop them in now! I’ll have to keep doing the sun dance so we don’t get caught out by Jack Frost 🙂

After planting the potatoes, we got a bit more weeding done and I managed to sew some seeds on our wild flower patch.  I planted some pretty little daisies that I treated myself to – well it was Easter after all (and I’d overdosed on chocolate eggs! :D) When we’d finished we had achy muscles and bones, but a job well done.

I’m really pleased with the progress we’re making on the plot.  It’s coming together nicely.  The seeds we’ve sown at home are starting to wake up too.  Christmas Dinner is well under way 😀

I’m loving spending time down on the lottie, it’s hard work but it’s worth it 🙂

We finished our Easter break by visiting the lovely village of Haworth – Bronte Country. I hope you all had a lovely long Easter weekend.  It’ll be Christmas before you know it… best get the sprouts on! hehe
